AMHPAC launches Mexico-U.S. horticultural matchmaking initiative
The Mexican Protected Horticulture Association (AMHPAC) has launched a new initiative from its U.S. office, linking growers with retailers and marketers.
AMHPAC CEO Eric Viramontes said the goal of the Grower-Marketer Matchmaking Program was to provide detailed information, save time and ultimately improve profits.
"We are excited about this program, as it can solve significant problems for the supply chain. Our process for vetting growers and marketers is similar to the neural networking programs used by web-based industries such as real estate and dating sites," he said.
"It's no longer just about being able to supply a customer with one commodity for one season. The value proposition with this new service will be time saving - and ultimately profitable for both parties."
AMHPAC is a non-profit organisation representing 260 companies in Mexico, with a U.S. branch in Nogales, Arizona.
