Argentina and China sign new ag agreements
Argentina and China have signed three new food integration agreements, including entry approval for the South American country's citrus fruits in southern Chinese ports.
In a release, Argentina's Ministry for Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing (MINAGRI) said the agreements were signed in Beijing by representatives of both countries.
Until now Argentina could only ship its oranges, grapefruit and mandarins to ports in the north of China in Dalian, Qingdao, Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai, which are further from the country's major wholesale markets.
With the agreement now in place, the list will be extended to the ports of Guangzhou and Xiamen.
Other agreements included protocol for beef meat meal, as well as bones and blood from cows, sheep and goats, in addition to a wine cooperation agreement.
Both parties agreed they would now be focused on promptly completing negotiations for lemon and corn exports.
