PMA Fresh Connections heads to central Mexico
Queretaro, Mexico will serve as the next hub for the Produce Marketing Association's Fresh Connections. The two-day event, this May 15 and 16, will bring together professionals from across the fruit and vegetable supply chain, including 30 exhibitors and 300 participants.
In addition to networking opportunities with top industry players and experts, the event offers educational sessions and presentations on local and global consumption trends, and the latest innovations in product storage, transportation and management.
Among regional retailers present will be Walmart, Soriana, Comercial Mexicana, Chedraui, Calimax and Súper Del Norte.
PMA's vice president of global business development, Nancy Tucker, highlighted the significance of carrying out a Fresh Connections event in Queretaro.
"We are very excited about some new things for Fresh Connections: Mexico. One is that we moved the event from Guadalajara to Queretaro. We needed to have a larger facility, so the event will now be held in a convention center," Tucker told www.freshfruitportal.com.
"This new location is in the center of the country and has international airport access. It is also easy to arrive from Mexico City by car. There are also a lot of growing areas nearby."
The event invites participation from distributors, supermarkets, retailers, importers and exporters and logistical specialists. It also welcomes young entrepreneurs, under age 35, as a gesture to offer networking opportunities and industry knowledge.
