According to a company release, the operation will offer a much more accurate and homogeneous matured banana with a better color, quality and longer shelf-life.
"The new refrigeration system allows Cultivar to be more efficient and competitive in both imports of Canarian banana as well as satisfying the most demanding requirements of distribution," it says.
"The goal is to keep proposing the best service and excellent quality, and completing the range of products offered by Cultivar to our customers."
The new facility will also be used for other categories imported and distributed by Cultivar including avocados, mangoes and papayas.
