Panama: Cocaine hidden under bananas, yams
Once again, cocaine has been intercepted in a drug bust associated with fresh produce.Â
On Monday, Panama's National Border Service (Senafront) found 85 packets of the drug underneath several sacks of bananas and yams in a pick-up truck in the Punuloso de Darién area, website Telemetro.com reported.
In a separate operation in Chubasco, Santa Fe, Senafront found 32 packets of marijuana in a residence following a tip-off.
The authorities said two people were arrested after the operation, including a Panamanian woman.
