SanLucar teams up with mozzarella brand at German retailers
Spanish produce company SanLucar hopes to raise its tomato sales through a new partnership with Italian cheesemaker Galbani at point of sale (POS) in German supermarkets.Â
For the next few weeks SanLucar praline tomatoes and Galbani Mozzarella di latte di Bufala pearls will be available for tasting, while consumers will also be given new recipe ideas and inspirations for healthy, Mediterranean snacks.
The small, aromatic praline tomatoes are one of the sweetest varieties among the wide SanLucar product range.
Within the four categories 'Luxury', 'Snack', 'Salad' and 'Cooking', SanLucar says it is offering the right tomato concept for everyone.
Most of the tomatoes are grown in the SanLucar Oasis in Tunisia, about 450km south of the capital Tunis.
In a release, the company said the high potential for sunlight gave the tomatoes extra sweetness, while irrigation with geothermal water rich in minerals gave an "extraordinary aroma".
