Argentina kicks off second pome fruit campaign for China
Chinese inspectors have given the green light to Argentina's first shipments of apples and pears this season, in what marks the country's second campaign with the Asian nation since access was granted last year.
In a release, Argentina's National Food Health and Quality Service (Senasa) said representatives from both countries inspected and approved seven containers of fruit in Villa Regina, RÃo Negro.
The containers have a total weight of 143.6 metric tons (MT).
Senasa said it was working with the fruit industry to further develop commercial links with China, with the objective of seeking out new destinations for agricultural products.
