Greenyard sales almost hit €1B in Q3
Greenyard (Euronext Brussels: GREEN), a leading company in fresh and prepared produce which includes the entity formerly known as Univeg, has recorded a strong performance for the third quarter.
In a trading update published late last week, the group highlighted a year-on-year increase in sales to hit €996.9 million (US$1.06 billion).
The group said its acquisition of Dutch mushroom canner Lutèce added 3% to the top line, more than offsetting a 1.6% sales hit due to foreign exchange issues which were mainly driven by a drop in the British pound.
The group's fresh segment had a 4.7% rise in sales, while total year-to-date sales reached €3.143 billion (US$3.34 billion), representing an increase of almost 8%.
In June 2015, Greenyard combined its four constituent companies - Univeg, Pinguin, Noliko and Peltracom – under one unified banner to become a global market leader in fresh and prepared fruits and vegetables and growing media.
