Guatemala to export exotic fruits and vegetables
Guatemala will export 25 different varieties of African and Asian agricultural products that have been successfully cultivated in the central American country, reported news agency AFP.
The fruits on the list include squashes and balsam pears, which are bright orange, egg-shaped verrucose fruit, AFP reported.
Balsam pears originate from Africa but the Guatemalan varieties are both Chinese and Indian.
Vegetables to be exported include taro, Chinese and Indian eggplants and Egyptian cucumbers.
