Argentina: authorities approve airport cold storage construction
Authorities in the Argentina province of Tucuman have approved the construction of a cold chamber in the region's main airport, according to Argentine Blueberries (APRATUC).
The law was passed through the provincial legislature and now means a cold storage facility will be built on-site, covering an area with the capacity to service two aircraft carriers simultaneously.
The construction will be built with Federal Government funds of ARS6 million (US$1.43 million).
Tucuman is the Southern Hemisphere's earliest blueberry supplier, but the facility is set to be used by a wide range of industries.
