Peru: Camposol workers announce strike
The trade union representing Peruvian horticultural giant Camposol has called for a general indefinite strike to start on May 2, website Agronegociosperu.org reported. 
The union has claimed the company did not share profits from 2011, and also allegedly breached collective agreements by not giving breaks to seasonal and older workers; instead calling on new staff to harvest avocados and other products.
The union is also claims there was a breach of agreements over the handling of heavy crates, as well as freedom of association problems through the unfair suspensions of union members.
The story reported a peaceful preventative strike was held last Wednesday, giving a message that if claims are not heard the strike will start in May.
