Subsole highlights solar energy grape project
At Fresh Connections Chile last week, Subsole general manager José Miguel Fernández shared the experience of his company, which is building the first photovoltaic plant dedicated to horticulture in the country.
The construction has been in development since 2008 with a site in Chile's III region in the Atacama desert, which is host to the most intense solar radiation on the planet.
"It is important to convey to you all that the motivation behind this company is a firm convinction that this business we are participating in has a tremendous future," he said.
"Despite the problems with the exchange rate, we know we will succeed."
In light of this project, Fernández urged the industry to develop more innovative projects that would improve the productivity and competitiveness of Chilean fruit.
"I think we can make things much better. We have a great country."
