U.S.: Baloian Farms introduces new baby bell peppers
Fresno-based Baloian Farms has signed on as the exclusive West Coast supplier of Seminis Seed’s BellaFina baby bell peppers.
The company has taken on the product following consumer research that showed close to 60% of consumers preferred baby bell peppers over full size bell peppers.
In the same development stage studies, a survey showed consumers noted the versatility of baby bells and their snacking capacity, highlighting their desire to consume both pepper products.
A Baloian release said this meant there were opportunities for new sales with no cannibalization of the existing market.
“Consumer research often indicates that consumers are looking for more affordable, value-added and portion controlled products and BellaFina baby bell peppers do just that by providing a more versatile bell pepper food experience,” said sales manager Jeremy Lane.
“We are constantly striving to bring more innovation to our traditional commodities and add value for our customers and the consumer.
“We are excited by the potential of BellaFina baby bells and their ability to create more impact on shelf, reduce shrink and create higher perceived value for consumers with a multiple color, multiple piece, one price pack for consumers.”
