U.S.: Green Giant and Taylor Farms team up for national sweepstakes

Produce companies Taylor Farms Retail and Green Giant Fresh have launched a national vegetable promotion in the U.S. this summer with instant redeemable coupons and codes to enter into online competitions. Broccoli

Customers will find displays in seven grocery chains across the country featuring a QR, or 'quick response', code that can be used to access the sweepstake competitions via a mobile device or home computer.

The sweepstakes can also be entered using coupons on products featuring Box Tops for Education, which are usually displayed on the tops of products like cereal boxes.

The Green Giant Fresh sweepstakes grand prize winner shall receive a US$250 gift card to their local grocery story, and one first prize winner will receive a Weber Grill Q1000.

The competition kicked off on July 17 and will run for a month, with the winners being contacted by August 25.

In addition to the sweepstakes, six fresh cut vegetable products will also feature a US$0.55 instant redeemable coupon from July 17 until August 1.

The six products are 12 oz Broccoli Florets, Broccoli and Cauliflower Medley, Vegetable Medley, Stir Fry Blend, Broccoli Slaw, and 8 oz Sugar Snap Peas, which is also a Box Tops for Education item.

In a press release, Green Giant marketing director Jennifer Fancher said the company was giving American families a fun way to connect with its products.

"By combining the opportunity to win prizes along with building awareness around the Box Tops for Education™ program, we are encouraging healthy summer eating habits as well as creating a way for Moms with school aged children to capitalize on a product with Box Tops for Education™ being included in the offer," Fancher said.
