Norway: Logistics provider expands cold store facilities
Netherlands-headquartered logistics company Kloosterboer is expanding its cold storage in Norway with an operation boosting the volume of fresh produce capacity close to the southern port of Moss.
The cold store represents a 'value addition' to Kloosterboer's existing network in Scandinavia, according to a company release.
The formal acquisition of Mosseporten Frysehotell AS took place late last week.
The cold store, measuring 8,500 square meters has 20,000 pallet spaces and is located approximately 60km (37.2 miles) from Oslo. The entire development is built into the side of a mountain, has been in operation since 2009 and is one of the largest and most modern cold stores in Norway.
"In combination with the team in Sweden, where we are currently finalizing a new fully automated high bay cold store in Bjuv, we are well positioned to develop our services as a logistics service provider in the Scandinavian market," says CEO Hans Kroes in a release.
Kloosterboer specializes in a range of temperature-controlled trade operations such as warehousing, stevedoring, shipping, customs and logistics.
The acquisition sees the name of the cold storage change to Kloosterboer Norway AS.
