The organizers of produce industry event Fruit Attraction in Spain expect a much larger turnout this year, with 1,000 exhibitors from 25 countries due to take part.
With the event due to take place on Oct. 29-30 in Madrid, organizers IFEMA and FEPEX say the amount of exhibitors represents a 20% increase on 2014 while floor space will expand 18% to 32,000 square meters.
In a release, FEPEX says Europeans make up 86% of the international participation, including Italy, France, Portugal, the U.K., Belgium and Germany.
Around 9% of the international participants are from the Americas, including Brazil which will have a more notable presence, as well as first-timers Argentina, Chile, the United States, Mexico and Nicaragua.
Other nations set to take part include Austria, Canada, India, Latvia and New Zealand.
In terms of visitors, organizers are forecasting a 16% increase to 40,528 people, of which just under 6,700 are foreigners from 88 countries.
The organizers highlighted the event had become a first order commercial tool for produce industry companies, giving participants a platform for promotion and international expansion.
