SanLucar to team up with Kung Fu Panda in push for healthy eating
Spanish produce group SanLucar will begin using the popular karate-bear Kung Fu Panda on its packaging to promote children to eat more fruit.
In accordance with film producer 20th Century Fox, SanLucar will feature the bear on packaging for berries and bananas until April 18, in line with the film premiere of Kung Fu Panda 3, according to a SanLucar release.
The aim of the campaign is to integrate fruit in children's daily eating habits and help parents teach their kids how to develop a healthy and balanced diet.
The world’s most popular panda is not only featured at the product’s packaging, he can also be found on posters and brochures in German and Austrian POS.
"We all know how difficult getting your children to eat fruits and vegetables can be," said SanLucar CEO Stephan Rötzer.
"Sometimes we, as parents, are forced to mix fruits and veggies with other foods to make sure our youngsters get all the essential vitamins and nutrients for a healthy development and growth."
The brand started cooperating with the film producer two years ago in order to include cinema characters in the promotion of their products.
So far, Paddington Bear, Shaun the Sheep, Heidi and now Kung Fu Panda, have served as ambassadors for SanLucar's fruit.
There will be further cooperation between the two companies in the future, according to the release.
