As BelOrta’s berry campaign gets into full swing, the first batch of gooseberries are now available with supplies predicted to last until the fall.
A few weeks after the Belgian fruit cooperative kicked off its red berry campaign, gooseberries are coming on board with approximately 70 metric tons (MT) expected this season.
The Xenia variety is available slightly earlier than initially expected and production peak is predicted for late June and into early July.
Raspberries and blackberries are planned shortly.
According to BelOrta, demand for its soft fruit is increasing year on year both domestically and abroad.
