Unifrutti of America changes name
Philadelphia-based fresh produce importer and distributor Unifrutti of America has changed its name to Tastyfrutti International, complete with a new logo to herald in a new era of marketing for the company which was founded in 1984.
In a release, the company emphasized it would continue its commitment to providing "safe high quality produce and superlative service" to North American consumers at competitive prices, while ensuring profitable grower returns.
The group emphasized its capacity to procure a continuous supply of safe, wholesome fresh fruit products through compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards, as well as certifications from PrimusLabs, the American Food Safety Institute and Global Good Agricultural Practice (GAP).
Tastyfrutti International said exporters and domestic growers had and would continue to consolidate international food safety requirements, incorporating a program of recorded systematic procedures to grow top-grade fruit in a sustainable way.
"Our mission has always been to add value for our customers and growers through concentrated marketing, product advancement and innovation," said Tastyfrutti International founder and CEO Andreas Economou.
"While our name will be changing, our focus on conducting business with integrity and delivering premium products and service will in no way be affected."
