U.S.: Del Monte launches veggie noodle line
Tapping into one of the hottest consumer trends at the moment, U.S.-headquartered group Fresh Del Monte (NYSE: FDP) has announced it has launched a vegetable noodle product line.
The noodles are now available in a variety of sizes at select locations across North America in six blends including zucchini, butternut squash, sweet potato, beet, yellow squash and carrot.
“We are excited to bring our pre-cut vegetable noodle concept to grocery stores and markets across the country,” vice president of market Dennis Christou said in a release.
“They are the perfect pasta alternative for healthy eaters and an easy, fun way for consumers to increase vegetable consumption.”
The noodles are pre-cut and ready to add to salads, sauté, or boil. Del Monte said it had taken "all of the prep work out, making it even faster and convenient for consumers to prepare than traditional pasta noodles."
The company added it had created its range of vegetable noodles to align with the recent consumer trend focusing on healthy alternatives to carb-heavy products.
"They are 100% fresh, preservative free, and come conveniently packaged and ready to cook or serve. Del Monte® Vegetable Noodles can be found in the refrigerated produce section of select grocery stores," the company said.
