Historical London walking tour shapes LPS18 Partner Programme
Partners of exhibitors and attendees participating at The London Produce Show and Conference 2018 (LPS18)are set to uncover London’s most interesting secrets through four of the city’s favourite drinks during the event’s annual Partner Programme, which this year will be hosted by Emma Parker, the founder of London walking tour company Coutours.
The fifth edition of the LPS Partner Programme combines luxurious pampering with a bespoke, informative walking tour that will bring to life the history of London through the city’s obsessions with tea, coffee, gin and beer.
Host Emma Parker is well placed to give participants the inside track on London’s food and drink history thanks to her 20-year public relations background in fashion, food, travel, fragrance and retail, on top of her BA (Hons) in History from The University of London.
The Partner Programme is an opportunity for the so-called ‘better-halves’ of LPS18 participants to relax and enjoy a VIP experience that will make the most of their stay in the UK’s iconic capital.
At the same time, they will have the opportunity to make new friends and network with the partners of other professionals in the fresh produce industry.
Taking place on Thursday 7 June and running concurrently to the LPS18 one-day trade show, spouses and partners can expect to experience a fantastic day that begins at 9 a.m. with a light breakfast in a special suite at the Grosvenor House hotel – the LPS18 venue.
Before venturing into the streets of London for the walking tour, guests will receive a welcome gift on arrival while they get to know one another over tea or coffee and light breakfast bites.
At 10.30 a.m., Parker will lead the way for a fascinating, whistle-whetting historical drinks tour of London that will take in St. Paul's Cathedral, Fleet Street, Holborn, Old Bailey, City of London Distillery and Samuel Johnson's House.
Over the course of the next few hours, the tour will highlight through numerous fun facts how four of London’s favourite drinks – tea, coffee, gin and beer – have helped to shape the workings and characteristics of the city as it is known today.
Following lunch, the party will return to the Grosvenor House for some rest, relaxation and pampering in the afternoon. Once back at the hotel, participants can choose from various re-energising spa treatments, including massages, manicures or pedicures.
Any spouses or partners taking part in the programme will have at their disposal a dedicated LPS Partner Programme Suite at the Grosvenor House to use as they wish between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the day.
Places on the Partner Programme cost £295+VAT per person.
Space is limited so it is advisable to book in advance.
