Italy: Emerson receives award for app innovation in cargo tracking
U.S.-based technology and engineering company Emerson was presented with a silver medal for the Macfrut Innovation Award at this year's installation of the event for its Cargo Solutions business.
The business unit was recognized for its technology innovation with the Oversight mobile application.
Director of international sales for Cargo Solutions, Gerd Uitdewilligen, accepted the award, which was presented on the 9th May by Renzo Piraccini, president of Cesena Fiere, and Antonio Boschetti, director of L'Informatore Agrario.
The app focuses on food quality and safety, enabling users to view critical shipment details in real-time throughout the cold chain, in conjunction with Emerson's GO Tracker product line, according to the company.
The GO Trackers are placed on perishable shipments and communicate data via cellular connectivity, allowing users access to a host of key data points including temperature, location details, and trip duration.
The app provides global visibility with alerts via email or texts for shipments that may have been compromised and is available in several languages.
"Oversight Mobile gives our customers the freedom to be anywhere and maintain complete visibility and control over their shipments," said Frank Landwehr, vice president and general manager of Cargo Solutions for Emerson.
"It's an honor to be recognized with this innovative technology award. Our app's robust feature set coupled with an intuitive design make this tool invaluable for real-time cargo visibility, convenience and the ability to effectively safeguard perishable products."
