AgroFresh gains approval to expand its proven technologies into new markets

PRESS RELEASE

Philadelphia – AgroFresh Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:AGFS), a global leader in produce freshness solutions, announced today the expansion of two patent-protected and proven solutions. Near-harvest formulation Harvista™ SC received regulatory approval in Australia and pre-transplant technology LandSpring™ WP obtained approval for tomatoes in California.

“The newly approved Harvista SC and LandSpring WP registrations are evidence of our commitment to investing in and expanding the footprint of our key technologies into new international markets,” says AgroFresh CEO Jordi Ferre. “The benefit for our customers is even greater, as our pre-harvest technology provides advantages from the early growth stage, ultimately resulting in superior produce quality, loss reduction and a bigger return.”

Harvista technology enables growers to expand the harvest window to keep fruit on the tree for optimal color, size and firmness. The extension of this easy-to-apply formulation will arm Australian growers with the ability to deliver better fruit quality and taste profile, the same capability as their counterparts in the Americas.

LandSpring technology supports seedling quality by easing transplant shock in plants and blocking the effects from early environmental stressors to generate more abundant, higher-quality yields. Growers in most parts of the U.S. have used LandSpring since 2016; now California tomato seedling growers can benefit. California represents approximately 80 percent of the U.S. market for processing tomatoes, marking the recent extension a significant boost in AgroFresh’s strategic growth.

California growers can get access to LandSpring through TS&L Seed Company, AgroFresh’s exclusive distributor of LandSpring in California.
